Building Conservation.com~Some interesting background and historial information on early and vernacular door fittings e.g this article by Linda Hall:
Fixtures and fittings are vitally important in enabling an old property to retain its character. Early vernacular fittings in particular have a unique charm and interest that is the product of their manufacture, their style and ornamentation, and their age. Their removal or replacement by inappropriate reproductions gives an immediate modern or fake feel to a house, even if its walls and roof are hundreds of years old.

www.jugdealer.co.uk~If you are a collector who has a passion for whisky jugs or water jugs, we may have something to interest you. If you don’t collect, why not just browse through the following pages – perhaps they may inspire you to start a collection! A pair of ex-publicans are offering ceramic jugs relating mainly to various Scottish highland distilleries, plus a few items from Irish whiskey distillers.Of interest to real ale drinkers might be our water jugs from the Tom Wood brewery in North Lincolnshire. They were very limited edition jugs and might be particularly relevant to campaign for real ale (CAMRA) members. We also have several beer drinking glasses of different sizes and shapes (including glass boots), commemorating different beers from home and abroad. We have in our collection ceramic beer fonts (bar pump heads), which have been converted into table lamps.
